Words Your Wife—or Husband, Children, Friends, Coworkers—Would Love to Hear

“Run! Use every gift that God has given you.…”

That’s what Aaron Armstrong said to his wife, Jenny Rae, eight years ago. She posted it on Facebook, and I loved it so much I posted it then.

This morning Facebook gave it to me as a memory. I loved it again and decided to share it with you. Here is the full quote:

“Run! Use every gift that God has given you. Don’t hold back, don’t hesitate. In every moment, live with the freedom to fully exercise every God-given resource within you to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ in this world. Never fear my reprisal, (rather) hear my applause! Become the fullest expression of Christ’s love in this world that you can be. Shine in the darkness, and share everything that God has given to you for this world, to the glory of God.”

Is that beautiful? Husbands, wouldn’t your wife love to hear it? I know I am grateful that my husband encourages with similar words.

And wives, would that also bless your husband?

But let’s not stop there. What about your children, your siblings, your friends, your co-workers. Really, anyone you care about, or can influence or mentor or help make a major life decision or rise above a disappointment….

Of course, there are realities and setbacks, missteps and failures.

But everyone needs to know someone in their life, especially someone important in their life, is for them, behind them, beside them, believing, encouraging, cheering.

Even as our God is doing.

“What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us?” (Romans 8:31)

And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.” (2 Corinthians 9:8)

What about you? Is there someone you can encourage like this?
