A Song for Steve
I received a special gift from Roy Ganse, an MIT classmate of Steve's. Roy wrote: "It was an honor to travel through life in Cambridge and Boston with Steve. We all miss him, though his impact will live on through many people for a long time."
Roy wrote this song based on a question Steve often asked: What are you doing with your moment in time?"
So I'm sharing this song with you.
HONORING STEVE
Steve Awarded Hall of Fame by NRB
Steve was honored at the closing gala of National Religious Broadcasters convention in Orlando. I accepted his award and said a few words about him and in gratitude. Steve and Christy Sellers (President of Cru) and my son-in-law Nick Runyon were there with me.
IlluniNations Honors Steve
I was so blessed by the people at IllumiNations as they honored Steve and his encouragement to working together. They gave me a beautiful hand wrought bowl representative of "golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of God’s people." (Rev 5:8) with Mart Green and Todd Peterson
IllumiNations is a collective of Bible translation efforts around the globe. Some 15 years ago, Steve asked how long it would take to get enough of the Bible in every language to start a church. He was told 150 years. He said that was too long, and encouraged his friends in Bible translation efforts to increase their efforts to work together and thus move toward the goal more quickly.
IllumiNations has done that, as well as utilizing technology, even artificial intelligence, and today the number of years for every language is 10 years.
Ignite Conference in Indonesia
The Ignite leaders have considered Steve as the “igniter” for this approach—they played a video of Steve explaining his vision for this highly effective funding approach for the ministry.
