This past week has been busy and exciting at Cru’s Lake Hart campus: We commissioned a new president: David Robbins.

David and his wife, Meg, have been on Cru staff for more than two decades, serving in Italy, on campus, in New York City working with millennials, and as president of Family Life.

Steve Sellers, who took my Steve’s place in 2020, planned to serve for three to four years. He played a major role in strengthening and expanding our global efforts, and then announced it was time for God’s next person. The Board of Directors spent many hours praying, considering, evaluating and listening to God.

The Commissioning Service was so honoring to God and affirming of His choice for our next president. Staff leaders from around the world came to be part of the event. I had the privilege to pray for their four children.

Enjoy these few photos. I encourage you to watch the one-hour Commissioning Service here:

Thank you for your prayers for our June 2 Worldwide Prodigal Prayer Day. I believe it was the most effective day in our more than 20 years. Our theme was Fear Not. You can read the brief devotionals I wrote to prepare us for the spiritual battle here: https://judydouglass.com/blog/fearnot1

We have almost 11,000 (first) names on our prayer list. Our Prayer for Prodigals Facebook page has 7,000 followers and is very active. We have received wonderful reports of answered prayer.

I find great joy in sharing Steve with others. July 12 was his birthday—he would have been 79. I posted on my Facebook page a lot of pictures—this might have been my favorite. And I shared “Wisdom from Steve,” a compilation of some of Steve’s pithy statements which I prepared for my grandson’s high school graduation. Read it here: https://judydouglasss.com/wisdomfromsteve

I had the privilege of participating in our Global Connection Gathering in Kananaskis Village, Alberta, Canada, which is a great opportunity to reconnect with ministry friends. I had a small speaking opportunity, which I always love.

I am so thankful for your faithful prayers and financial support as I continue as a full-time missionary with Cru. And here are a few prayer requests:

  • For progress on two books I am helping with:

    • Pioneer Women of Cru--we have about one-third of the stories written. We could use a few more writers.

    • Beyond: Creating a Life You Love After 50, 60, 70 and More—It launches October 1.

  • Some rest and pursuing some order at home in August.
