Celebrate with the Angels!

They love to party in Heaven!And we're invited to celebrate with the angels!When my girls, Debbie and Michelle, were young, one of our favorite things was to join in on the joyful celebrations that went on in heaven all the time.Jesus Himself tells us about these parties:   “I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents." (Luke 15:10)Apparently the residents of heaven are so thrilled every time a person joins the family of God that they have a soiree.So every time someone in our family had the privilege of being a part of someone meeting our Savior, we “celebrated with the angels.”We got out several angel candles and lit them. Then we brought a number of angel figurines to the party. We talked about the person who had made this wonderful discovery of knowing Christ personally--who was it, how did he/she come to this life-changing decision?  What were our feelings to be a part of this new birth?We expressed thanks that God would include us in such an important event. We sought to feel the awe that God let us be part of new life.  And we prayed for the our new sister or brother to grow to know and love God more each day, that he or she would seek God first and grow to be and do all that God intended when He created them.Then we ate a yummy dessert--often my famous peach cobbler, but it might just be ice cream!The best part is that the party goes on and on—the more we introduce people to our loving and merciful God, the more we get to celebrate.You’re invited too.  Please come to the “Celebrate with the Angels” party!c2011 Judy Douglass
