Some Words for Your Day
So many of you commented on and shared my brief post a week ago about my word for this year—word(s)--I thought you would like to have a glimpse of my first efforts to see what God might want to say to me about this.
I have been looking first at Scriptures that mention the Word of God. Already in one week I have been blessed and reminded of the truth and power of the Word in these words from God:
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. (John 1:1)
As for God, his way is perfect: The Lord’s word is flawless; he shields all who take refuge in him. (Psalm 18:30)
The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. (John 1:14)
And the words of the Lord are flawless, like silver purified in a crucible, like gold refined seven times. (Psalm 12:6)
Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’” (Matthew 4:4)
For the word of the Lord is right and true; he is faithful in all he does. (Psalm 33:4)
“Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. (Matthew 7:24)
Each day I am meditating on the chosen verse, letting the Truth of and about God’s word sink into my mind and my heart—and hopefully be lived out in my actions.
May His Words be alive in your life.
What about you? What word from God has spoken to you lately?
