A Visual for Memorial Day

We honor our military members. We are grateful that they serve. Protect. Fight. Die. For us and for our freedoms. Memorial Day is to honor and thank those who have given their lives.

But the price has been terrible—throughout the history of humankind, right up until today.

Below I have pictured a few of the American military cemeteries, sheltering the remains of several hundred thousand sons and daughters of our nation. There are many more. These represent the Civil War, World War I, World War II and the Vietnam War.

May these visuals remind us of the terrible cost of life and the loss of loved ones. May we honor and express gratitude and not forget. May we pray for those who go and for their families.

And may we recognize the horror that war is and pray and work for peace.
