A Start-Up Podcast and A Prodigal Son Video
The Realities of a Podcast
So they said it wouldn’t be much work to do a podcast once a week. It would only be 15-20 minutes long. And of course, I already have content to draw on in my book, When You Love a Prodigal.
But, of course, I have to prepare the content for each one, and think of a title, and record it, and write a description, and write a longer description, and write a short article for the podcast network. And come up with additional resources for listeners. And pray the technology works.
Is it worth it? Oh yes. Gratefully I have wonderful help from from Mary and Susan in my office and from Andy and Larry in the recording studio at Cru.
And though we only have four episodes live so far, and we don’t know our numbers, we do have 10 5-star ratings and several wonderful reviews.
This week I did the herculean task of writing scripts for and recording five episodes. I was very pleased with each one, and now I have some freedom to do some other things. And people tell me they are being encouraged and blessed. So thank you, Lord.
If you haven’t listened yet, I invite you, yes, even encourage you to check it out. You can listen on your favorite podcast site. You will get more extra resources if you listen on CPN or Apple. If you click on either of those you can listen to Episode 4: What Is a Prodigal? I will be so grateful if you share it and encourage your friends to listen. And if you like, rate it and even write a review. Thanks so much.
Tenacious Love : A Prodigal Son Story
It is stories like this one that make it worthwhile to lead a prayer ministry, write a book and launch a podcast.
My friend Lin has asked for prayer for her son Chad for many years. In this video—both heartbreaking and heartwarming—she tells the story. You may weep, but you will marvel at what our God has done.
You can watch it here.
If you love a prodigal, or know someone who does, or know of one who needs prayer, our Prayer for Prodigals community will be glad to join you in praying. Just write to us at Prayer for Prodigals @ gmail.com (omit spaces.)
What about you? What has been a challenge—but so worth it—for you?
