Does Prayer Work—June 2 Is Almost Here

As we prepare to pray for your prodigal and others around the world, I want to share a hopeful story.

Perhaps you have read our Josh’s story that started this Prodigal Prayer Day. He met Jesus when he was 14. He would try to walk with God, but then would go on a long journey that included many bad choices, bad situations.

Finally he stepped away from all that, quit drinking, drugs, wrong friends, married a wonderful woman, had children, became a hardworking man. No longer a prodigal. Yet not really seeking the Lord.

I was with him and his wife this weekend and went to church with them. His wife got baptized. The children are in kids’ church. And they talked with the pastor about a four-week class to church membership.

I’m pretty giddy about all this, thanking God over and over.

So don’t lose hope. Keep praying.

Here’s another brief video from John Ortberg on The Lord’s Prayer to help you as you pray. He: Does Prayer Actually Work?
