God's Valentine's Gifts to You

Valentine’s Day is the day of love, all of February has come to be the month of love.

We send cards and flowers and gifts to assure our loved ones and our friends of our love and care for them.

Our God tells us that He is the one who first loved us--1 John 4:19: “We love because He first loved us.” And, because of that love, He provides for us, pursues relationship with us, and even procures our salvation.

His love gives us the ability and desire to love others. And because He loves us so much, He gives additional wonderful gifts to us.

Love

Let these wonderful assurances of His love flow over you.

Psalm 103:11: “For as high as the heavens are above the earth,
so great is his love for those who fear him….”

Psalm 26:3 NLT: “For I am always aware of your unfailing love,….”

Psalm 36:5 NLT: “Your love, Lord, reaches to the heavens, your faithfulness to the skies.”

Mercy

It’s that love that sent Jesus to the cross, purchasing mercy for us:

Lamentations 3:22: “The faithful love of the Lord never ends!  His mercies never cease. Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning.”

Matthew 9:13: “But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice.’ For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.” Luke 23:34: “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.”

Grace

And flowing from that mercy is God’s incomprehensible grace for every moment:

Hebrews 4:16: “Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.”

Ephesians 2:7: “…in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus.”

Romans 5:15: “…how much more did God’s grace and the gift that came by the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ, overflow to the many!”

 Love, mercy and grace

Ephesians 2:4-7: But God, who is rich in mercy, out of the great love with which he loved us even when we were dead through our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved— and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the ages to come he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.”

Gratitude

And how do I respond?

Of course, with gratitude. Thank You, Lord. I am so grateful!

And by letting His love, mercy and grace flow through me to others—day by day, moment by moment.

How about you? How is God’s love touching your life today?
