her.BIBLE: God's Word in Women's Voices

This morning I listened to 1 John as read by the soothing voice of Allison Lee. The words from 1 John 4 are ones I emphasize in the first chapter—”Love”—in my book When You Love a Prodigal. I am more of a reader than a listener, but pairing a feminine voice with the New Living Translation written words before me is perfect.

I am grateful to Jenny Steinbach, who imagined a quality audio Bible in a modern English version, read exclusively by women. She could see and persisted in helping others envision her vision until she captured hearts within Cru to sponsor it.

It’s been a long journey, but now the entire New Testament is available, with the Old Testament in production. Just listen to 1 John 4, my portion for this morning.

The hope for this Bible is to:

Create a quality listening experience in comforting women’s voices

Represent USA ethnicity through different voices reading each book

Connect to younger generations’ preferred learning style

Help overcome emotional barriers for abused women

Provide free global access through the website and app (coming soon)

Inspire women around the world to record their own languages

One of my favorite benefits of her.bible is that women can hear God’s Word in places where it is illegal to own a Bible.

And yes, the url is her.BIBLE. Just click on it and listen for yourself.

What about you? What do you like best about her.BIBLE?
