April 2026 - 3 Easter Gifts for You
3 Easter Gifts for You
It’s Easter! A time for grief, for gratitude, for celebrating. Jesus, our Savior, in love giving Himself to a terrible death, followed by three days of grief, and then the amazing rejoicing in the resurrection of our Lord. I have three gifts for you: 1. An ancient prayer that reminds us of our unworthiness and Jesus’ sacrificial love. 2. The Jesus Film from the Last Supper through the Resurrection—like you were there. 3. A song of great hope.
A Prayer for Good Friday: The Precious Blood
Blessed Lord Jesus, before thy cross I kneel and see the heinousness of my sin, my iniquity that caused thee to be ‘made a curse’, the evil that excites the severity of divine wrath. Show me the enormity of my guilt by the crown of thorns, the pierced hands and feet, the bruised body, the dying cries. Thy blood is the blood of incarnate God, its worth infinite, its value beyond all thought. Infinite must be the evil and guilt that demands such a price. Sin is my malady, my monster, my foe, my viper, born in my birth, alive in my life, strong in my character, dominating my faculties, following me as a shadow, intermingling with my every thought, my chain that holds me captive in the empire of my soul. Sinner that I am, why should the sun give me light, the air supply breath, the earth bear my tread, its fruit nourish me, its creatures subserve my ends? Yet thy compassions yearn over me, thy heart hastens to my rescue, thy love endured my curse, thy mercy bore my deserved stripes. Let me walk humbly in the lowest depths of humiliation, bathed in thy blood, tender of conscience, triumphing gloriously as an heir of salvation Taken from The Valley of Vision, a Collection of Puritan Prayers

Victory Beyond the Cup: From Heather Reddy, Director
When the world gathers for the game, something deeper is happening beneath the surface: hearts open, cultures connect, and meaningful moments are waiting to unfold. During the World Cup, over 5 billion people will be watching. It’s a powerful window to build kingdom impact!
Victory Beyond the Cup is an invitation for anyone to step into that moment with purpose.
This movement calls men and women to embrace the beauty of hospitality, friendship, and connection. It’s about more than watching games, it’s about creating spaces where people from every nation, culture, and story feel seen, welcomed, and valued. Whether you’re opening your home, hosting a watch gathering, or simply engaging someone new in a spiritual conversation, every small step becomes part of a much bigger story God is telling.
Together, we reflect a heart that gathers and includes. As the nations come to us, we have a unique opportunity to offer hope that goes far beyond the final score.
This is your moment to live on mission with joy, courage, and connection, right where you are.

More Books
You know I love books. I am writing this from my daughter Debbie’s home. I’ve been thrilled with a grandchild’s baptism, watching a granddaughter put together an awesome science project, and talking to two grandboys about books that impacted my life. Here are two you will love, followed by an article on books that have been powerful in my life.
Follow the Evidence: What Science Reveals About the Existence of God by Bruce Cook
Here’s my endorsement: I have walked with God and served in ministry for more than 60 years. On rare occasions life events—world and personal—sneak in to suggest doubts about the validity of my faith. But Bruce has given me all the evidence I need to resist them and to live confidently in the truths God has given. Not a dry academic book, but a captivating story of discovery. Thank you, Bruce!!

Strength for the Brokenhearted by Dena Yohe
Loving a Prodigal can be long, exhausting and heartbreaking. Perhaps you have been there. I’ve been there. Dena Yohe has been there. And she has written a 31-day devotional book just for people like us.

And here’s the link to the books I talked with my grandsons about:
For the love of dogs
Debbie and her family have two amazing Brittany birding dogs. Debbie and I took them to the dog park—they ran and ran and ran. I was out of breath just watching them. But when we came home, they snuggled up and rested on top of Debbie.
May the sacrifice of Jesus to redeem us give you peace and hope today and always,
