November 2026 - Celebrating, Reflecting, Thanking

Celebrating, Reflecting, Thanking

It’s been a memorable October for me. I hope you will be blessed by all God has been doing.

Celebrating 75 years of Cru

We continue to thank God for all He has done through our ministry. On October 6 we prayed—something we do every fall and spring. This time we focused on thanking God for the abundant fruitful blessings He has given us toward “so everyone will know.” And to ask Him to continue to work in our hearts and through our efforts to go to all the world.

Our Scripture was 1 Thessalonians: 5:16-18-- Always be joyful. Never stop praying. Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.

I had a small surprise part in the Day of Prayer: They asked me to pray a blessing on the staff. You can watch that here:

And everyone received a beautiful 3-part devotional, “So Everyone Will Know.” We would love for you to have one—you can download the ebook here: https://www.cru.org/75/devotional/

Volume 2 of Her Calling, Our Legacy: Pioneer Women of Cru.

I loved telling you the stories of God daughters helping to launch the ministry of Campus Crusade. I hope you have had a chance to read the inspiring stories in Volume 1. And now we will take you around the world through the stories of 20 more women God has called and used to open doors, eyes, minds, and hearts to our Lord.

The key person in making this happen is my partner Carolyn West. I think you—women and men—will be greatly blessed.

Here I am with both volumes:

Refreshing and Relating in the North Carolina Mountains

This past weekend I spent a delightful two days with 20 women at Ridgecrest Conference Center for CLA: Christian Women in Leadership Fall Gathering 2026. Tami Heim, president of Christian Leadership Alliance, sponsors this event every year.

We met all together and in small groups, sharing our stories and our ministries. Many loved a fun afternoon in Black Mountain—I rested and wrote. We ate scrumptious food. We prayed. And oh, how we loved the beauty and color—reds, yellows, oranges everywhere.

Giving Thanks in Everything

And now it is November—the month and day we gather with friends and loved ones to say Thank You for all the ways we have been blessed: family, health, successes and challenges, provision, friends. Most of us can think of something we are grateful for.

Our God is pleased, I’m sure, that we can recognize the good times, opportunities, people in our lives. Yet He calls us higher: to give thanks in everything. Over my many years. I have slowly learned to do just that. Increasingly my first response, even in disappointments, difficulties, painful situations, has been to say Thank You, Lord. Be encouraged in this gratitude journey here:

Giving Thanks for Steve

October 29 marked four years since my husband, Steve, was called Home. I miss him every day, and I know many others miss him also. So for several days at the end of October I posted on my Facebook a few articles by and about Steve. You can see those here: https://judydouglass.com/blog.

May God’s love and goodness fill your heart and your mind,

Judy
