Prayers for My Prodigal on Prodigal Prayer Day
It's June 2. The Worldwide Day of Prayer for Prodigals.
I will be praying along with hundreds/thousands virtually, and with a small group at my home, asking God to return, rescue, redeem, restore the prodigals we love. We are hoping and believing that this is the Time God speaks of: "I am the Lord. In its time I will do this swiftly." (Isaiah 60:22b)
There are at least 2000 names on the list we will be praying for. Some are in desperate places, others wandering a bit, some confused. I will pray for every one of them. As will many others.
But of course I will focus on prayer for my son, Josh, who "founded" this prayer day because of his great need to be returned, rescued, redeemed, restored. He's had an up-and-down journey over the years we have prayed, and is in a better place right now. But still in need of prayer. I tell him this is his day, and that people all over the world will be praying for him. How can he resist a full surrender to the Lord?

May the eyes of your heart be enlightened that you truly know Him.
May you know that you have been rescued from darkness and brought into the light of the Son.
May you know your sins are forgiven.
May you experience always the assurance that you have been adopted into the family of God and nothing can ever separate you from His love.
May you be filled with the Spirit and thus walk in love, joy, peace, patience, goodness, kindness, gentleness, faithfulness and self-control.
May you be rooted and grounded in love and have the power to grasp how great God's love for you is.
May God comfort you in the pains and losses of your life.
May you hunger and thirst for Him and His righteousness.
May you be satisfied by God alone as He fills you with His Spirit.
May you know and choose the good plans God has for you.
May you fan into flame the gift of God in you.
May truth be your standard.
May God do in and through you immeasurably more than you can ask or think.
May God pour out blessing on you and through you every day of your life.
