September 2025 - Living and Loving like Jesus
Teaching my team—living and loving like Jesus
Over my 60+ years of walking with Jesus I have learned a lot about what it looks like to really live and love like our Lord. Add the 20 years of prodigal experience and ministry, and God has added depth and reality to my comprehension of being more and more conformed to the likeness of Christ.
Beginning tomorrow, for five Thursdays in September and October I will be leading the Women’s Resources team in a study of five of the key words God has imprinted on my mind, heart, and life: Thank. Love. Grace. Mercy. Bless. I am thrilled that God’s faithful commitment to my growth has been transformational in my life, in my relationships, and in my prodigal ministry. He is still working.
Josh and Judy at House of Hope
If you have read this newsletter or followed me on social media, you know about Josh: a boy God sent to us from a hard background. We had a long roller coaster prodigal journey with him.
When we were desperate, God led us to House of Hope, a home for troubled teens. Josh and we as his parents together learned much, made stronger connections with each other, and Josh met Jesus there. That was a real decision, but his living it consistently took quite a few years.
The founder of House of Hope was Sara Trollinger, a school teacher who was concerned about troubled kids. God told her to start House of Hope. Her faith and boldness have touched many lives. God called her home recently at the age of 91. Josh and I went to her memorial service together—a sweet time.
YouGo! Life Coaching Course
Helping Students go from where they are to where they want to be.
YouGo! addresses the top felt needs of this generation: loneliness, anxiety, lack of purpose, meaning in life. It is designed to reach high school and college students/Gen Z, by combining practical life skills with the gospel in a life coaching environment.
YouGo! is an 8-week interactive evangelistic resource. It is a great way for campus ministries, church youth groups, families and neighborhoods to help equip students with life skills and interact on the relevance of Jesus to their lives. YouGo! answers these key life questions:
WHO AM I? WHY AM I HERE?
WHERE AM I GOING? HOW DO I GET THERE?
For adults, see the corresponding life coaching resources for adults: thesignificanceproject.org
This current global generation of high school and college students are the most responsive to the Gospel since the 1960’s—don’t miss this opportunity to respond to their openness.
My Interview at Cru25 Legacy Gathering
Last month I mentioned our Cru staff conference. It started with a special time for staff 60 and over. All of us loved seeing long-time friends and new arrivals. I was privileged to be interviewed by long-time emcee Bob Horner. Enjoy:
Grandparents’ Day and Good Neighbor Day
September has two great days to celebrate.
Sunday, September 7 is the day to celebrate grandparents in your life, or for you to be celebrated if you are so blessed.
Here’s an article I wrote about it:
And on September 28, join the movement to make the world better, one neighborhood at a time.

A Light Treat for Fall
Fall is upon us, with so many yummy foods. So many filling foods. Here is a lighter treat to enjoy, courtesy of a wonderful cook, Carolyn West. (with a little improvisation by me)
May God surprise you with His blessings,
Judy.
